TYPE OF ALERT: Winter Storms In Progress, Blizzard, Sleet, Heavy Winds, Power Outages, Dangerous TravelNATURE OF ALERT:The National Weather Service has not yet updated their forecast as of 2PM EST.Local Weather News ( NBC and ABC) reports that NJ, NY, NYC through New England are still under big bands of snow. There are gusts of wind exceeding 50 Mph with drifting snow. Blizzard conditions exist through out the region with poor visibility from 1/4 mile to 1/8 mile along I95. The intensity of snow in NYC is 3 inches an hour with plows barely able to keep the roads clear. The winds and intensity will begin to die down in NJ and NYC and LI starting around 3PM through 6PM. Snow is anticipated to end by 9PM followed by sub zero temperaturesThe storm is continuing to intensify in New England and Boston with almost 10 inches of snow in Boston as of 2PM EST. There is coastal flooding from NJ through MA and SC through southern MD.Across the regions, the temperature is expected to drop below zero this evening. In combination with gusting wind, temperatures this evening will range from -10 to -35 degrees. The snow is slow melting and freezing temperatures are creating ice conditions.Power Outage75,000+ customers without power in 11 states.State of EmergencyNew York State has declared a State of Emergency from Westchester to NYC to LI. All airports are now closed but terminals are open for stranded travelers. There are about 3000 Power Outages on LI. Roads are dangerous, but the highways are open.The State of NJ has declared a state of emergency in 4 counties: Cape May, Atlantic, Ocean, and Monmouth Counties. All major roads are open. While there are over 4000 flights canceled in NJ, Newark airport remains open with major delays.The City of Philadelphia has declared a state of emergency. Philadelphia airport has major delays and cancellations.
